Mission Crimps presents a scenario that is audible as much as visible, emphasising the non-singularity of what we are seeing. An old telephone exchange, with its threaded cables, switches and exchange circuits, finds itself echoing the subconscious calibrations and configurations of the human mind, particularly the latent restorative processes that occur in the brain at night, during periods of intense brain activity. The project also echoes the natural environment, with its systems of watery flows, dendritic spreads of tree branches, mountainous networks and dynamic exchange points. With Mission Crimps we come to understand that the human brain and the natural environment are wired and dynamically re-wired in certain ways.
